The Gates of New York
Over the last weekend in February, our Web Engineer traveled
to New York City to see The Gates. For those of you who weren't paying
attention, two
deranged artists installed 7,500 orange shower curtains along the pathways of Central Park. The
Gates stood for 16 days, drawing crowds and sidewalk vendors from all
over the world (and scaring
the Hell out of several dogs in the process).
From what we could see, the Gates transformed all of New York. While nobody
had any idea what it all meant, everyone
was wearing saffron (via NY Times) and going nuts over the color orange.
Except for this guy, who inexplicably
thought this would be a great time to take photos of only things that
were yellow. While in New York, our Engineer took a few photographs,
knowing full well that six weeks from now people will be saying "The
Gates? What the Hell are the Gates?"
